Contract: Using AI Upload

Overview

The Contract AI Upload feature allows you to automatically extract key information from your contract PDF documents. This powerful AI tool saves time and reduces manual data entry by intelligently identifying contract details such as amounts, dates, and roles.

Prerequisites

• AI Pre-fill access (contact your Customer Success Manager if you need access)

• Active Mastt user account with appropriate permissions

• PDF contract or contract document ready for upload

• Access to the relevant project

Key Concepts

• AI Document Processing: Automatically scans and extracts key information from contract PDFs
• Contract Data Extraction: Identifies important contract details including dates, amounts, parties, and terms
• Role Recognition: Intelligently detects and suggests appropriate contract roles like Consultant and Project Manager
• Validation Workflow: System presents extracted data for review and confirmation before finalizing

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Contracts Section

• Log into your Mastt account and select your Project

• Navigate to the Cost Module, then select Contracts

• Click either "Add Your First Contract" or the Add button in the top right corner

2. Upload your Contract Document

• Click on the Autofill from PDF field to open the document picker

• Upload your contract document in PDF format

3. Review and Confirm Contract Information

• Once the AI has analyzed your document, you can:

• • Click on Contract Roles to manage roles extracted from the document
  • Review and select the appropriate roles such as Client, Consultant and Project Manager
  • Navigate to Set Up & Configuration section
  • You can customize your Contract's Payment Clause, review and select appropriate SOPA and Tax%

• Click Add to complete the process

Best Practices

• Use well-scanned, text-searchable PDFs for the most accurate information extraction
• Always verify financial figures, dates, and party details after AI extraction
• Begin with standard contract formats before attempting unusual or highly customized documents

• Standardize your contract formats, when possible, to improve AI recognition

Troubleshooting

• Issue: AI fails to extract information
  • Solution: Ensure the PDF is text-searchable and not password protected or use the manual entry option to add the Payment.
• Issue: Incorrect information extracted
  • Solution: Manually correct any errors directly in the contract form before finalizing.
• Issue: Missing contract roles
  • Solution: Use the dropdown menu to manually select appropriate roles if AI doesn't identify them correctly.

Tips and Notes

• For best results, use clear, well-formatted PDF documents
• You can cancel the process at any time by clicking the "Cancel" button
• Always verify the AI-extracted information before finalizing
• The AI can identify common contract elements but may require review for complex or non-standard agreements

Security and Privacy

• Your documents are processed securely using a combination of best practice encryption and data transmission standards.

• Your data is not used to train any AI or machine learning models.

• Your data stays within Mastt's hosted environment and is not stored with any 3rd party.

Support File Types

• Currently, our system works with PDF documents. For optimal results, ensure your documents are digital versions and not scanned. Scanned documents will still work but with lower accuracy depending on scan quality.
