How to Edit and Delete Change Orders
Complete workflow guide for managing change orders in construction project management
The Cost Module's change order management keeps your project financial records accurate and organized. Use this process to update change order details or remove unnecessary entries from your project.
Before you start:
- Ensure you have edit permissions for the project
- Coordinate with your team before making changes
- Consider the impact on historical data and reporting
Steps
Navigate to change orders
- From your project dashboard page, click Cost in the navigation bar
- Click the Change Orders tab to view all project change orders
- Review the change orders list showing both standard and EOT change orders
Edit a change order
- Find the change order you want to modify in the list
- Click the three dots menu (action button) next to the change order
- Select Edit Change Orders from the dropdown menu
- Make your required changes in the change order form
- Add notes in the comments field based on changes made
- Upload any supporting attachments if needed
- Click Update (blue button, bottom right) to save your changes
Result: The change order updates immediately appear in the system
Delete a change order
- Locate the change order you want to remove in the change orders list
- Click the Action button (...) next to the change order
- Select Delete Change Order from the menu
- Click Delete in the confirmation pop-up to permanently remove the change order
Troubleshooting

Problem: Cannot delete a change order Solution: Check if payments are associated with the change order. Delete linked payments first, then delete the change order

Problem: Changes don't appear immediately Solution: Refresh the page or navigate away and return to the change orders tab
