How to Export Data to Excel
Complete workflow guide for exporting project data from Mastt to Excel
The data export feature allows you to extract project information from any Mastt register into Excel format for stakeholder reporting, analysis, or backup purposes. This process works for all registers including budgets, contracts, variations and payments.
Before you start:
- Ensure you have access to the project containing the data you need
- Apply any filters or column customisations you want included in the export
- Confirm which export option suits your needs (current view vs all data)
Steps
Access your project data
- From your project dashboard, select the specific module section (e.g., Cost for financial data)
- Click on the register containing the data you want to export (Budget, Contracts, Variations or Payments)
Choose your export option
- Locate and click the Export button beside the Add button
- Select your preferred export option:
- Current View: Exports only the data currently visible on screen, including applied filters and column customisations
- All Data: Exports the complete dataset from the register, including any hidden columns and unfiltered data
Complete the export
- Wait for the system to generate your Excel file
- Download the file when prompted
- Save the file with a descriptive name for easy identification
Result: Your selected data downloads as an Excel file ready for analysis, reporting, or sharing with stakeholders and clients.
Additional import capabilities
Mastt also supports importing data into specific registers:
- Project Schedule: Import MS Project
.xml
or Primavera P6.xer
files - Actuals: Import Excel
.xlsx
files - Cost Module: PDF documents using AI prefill tools for Contracts and Payments
Best practices
Apply filters and column customisations before exporting if you need specific data views. Use descriptive file names that include project name and date for easy tracking. Export regularly to maintain current backup copies of critical project data.
