How to View and Manage Change Orders in Change Order Overview
Complete guide to navigating Change Order Overview for construction project managers
The Change Order Overview page is your centralized hub for managing all aspects of a change order in Mastt. From here, you can review change order details and approval status, view cost allocations, assess time impacts, manage supporting documents, and track change order history—all in one place.
Before You Start
- A change order must already exist within a contract to view Change Order Overview
Accessing Change Order Overview
- From the Mastt Home page, click on a project tile to open your project
- Click Cost in the left navigation bar
- Click Changes in the top navigation bar to open the Changes register
- Click the change title to open Change Order Overview
Understanding Change Order Overview Tabs
Change Order Overview organizes change order information across five tabs.
Change Tab
The Change tab is the default view when you open Change Order Overview. It displays the core details of the change order, including classification, approval status, and administrative fields.
Click the Contract Name below the change title to navigate directly to the Contract Overview page.
- Overview — Shows the Vendor, Change Category, and Contract Change Number assigned to the change order
- Dates — Displays key dates including Date Received, Date Approved, and Approved By
- Additional Fields — Displays reference and tracking numbers such as Change Number, Reference Number, Change Approval Number, Clause, and other details
- Recommendation — Displays the recommendation notes associated with the change order
- Approval — Displays the formal approval statement certifying the contractor's change order in accordance with the Change Approval or Order
Amounts Tab
The Amounts tab displays a detailed breakdown of all cost allocations included in the change order.
The Allocation Table shows each row with the allocation Name, Requested Amount, Change Amount, Contract Line Item, Budget, and Tax percentage.
Additional features on this tab:
- Click Export in the toolbar to download the allocation table — choose Current View to export the table as displayed, or All Data to export the complete dataset
Time Impact Tab
The Time Impact tab displays how the change order affects the project schedule.
- Time Impact — Shows the Current Completion Date, Revised Completion Date, Days Approved, and Days Requested
- Comments — Add or view internal-only comments related to the time impact assessment
Documents Tab
The Documents tab stores and manages all documents related to the change order.
- Click + Add File or drag and drop files directly onto the page to upload documents
- Use the Search bar to find specific files, or click Filter to narrow results
- Click the Action menu next to any document to Download or Delete it

Audit Log Tab
The Audit Log tab provides a complete read-only history of all changes made to a change order. This includes user activity and timestamps so you can track who made changes and when.
Working with Tables
All tabs display data in customizable table views.
- Click the action button on any column header to sort, pin, filter, or hide columns
- Use the toolbar to reset views, customize columns, apply filters, or export data
Editing and Deleting Change Orders
From the Change Order Overview page:
- Click the back arrow to return to the Changes register
- Click Edit Change (upper right) to open the Update Change form and modify change order details
- Click Download to export change order reports
- Click Delete to remove the change order
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: What is the difference between Requested Amount and Change Amount?
Requested Amount is the value submitted by the contractor. Change Amount is the approved value recorded against the contract.
Q: Who can see the Audit Log?
All users with access to the change order can view the Audit Log. It is read-only and cannot be edited.
