Building Powerful Dashboards in Mastt
Build reports in Mastt with dashboards. Start from a template, the AI Creator or a blank canvas, add and customise tiles, restore earlier versions, and share or download dashboards.
Dashboards are Mastt's reporting system. Build a report from tiles, arrange it the way your audience needs, and export it as a PDF or share a link with stakeholders and clients.
Your changes save automatically. There's no Save button for the dashboard. Mastt saves as you work and keeps a version history you can restore from using the Version History icon next to the Share button. See How to Use Dashboard Version History.
Ways to start a dashboard
Click New Dashboard in the top left and choose one of three options:
| Option | Best for | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Template | Starting from a proven layout. Browse the Template Library or use your own custom template. | How to Create and Use Custom Dashboard Templates |
| AI Creator | Letting AI build and configure a dashboard for you | How to Use the AI Dashboard Creator |
| Blank Canvas | Building a dashboard from scratch, tile by tile |
The readiness indicator in the top right corner of the page shows whether your dashboard has all the information it needs. It shows Data Complete when everything is in place and Needs Data when information is missing.
Add and arrange tiles
- Add a tile: click Add Tiles in the top left, browse the library and pick a tile. It's added to the bottom of the dashboard.
- Move a tile: click and drag.
- Resize a tile: drag its bottom right corner.
Customise a tile
Hover over a tile and click the vertical three-dot button at the top to open its settings. Options vary by tile. For the KPI tile, for example, you can:
- Choose the number to display (such as budget)
- Select specific budgets, including budgets filtered by tag
- Add or subtract other numbers for a custom calculation
- Set the heading, denomination and decimal places
- Choose a colour: pick a preset or a custom colour, then click Save
Some tiles, such as Progress, let you set a custom title. For more on KPI tiles, see How to Add and Configure KPI Tiles.
Filter a table tile
- Click the three dots on the table tile and select Filter.
- Choose the columns to filter on and set your conditions (for example, values greater than a set amount).
- Save to apply the filter.
Export and share
| To | Do this |
|---|---|
| Share a link | Click Share, then Share Link. See How to Share a Dashboard Link. |
| Export the whole dashboard as a PDF | Click Share, then Download PDF. The dotted outline shows what will be included. |
| Download one tile | Click the three dots next to the tile and select Download tile. It downloads as an image for emails or presentations. |
Dashboard settings and views
Open settings from the vertical three dots in the top right. You can rename the dashboard, switch between landscape and portrait, show or hide footer and last updated dates in exports, and delete the dashboard.
Use the dropdown in the top right (it shows Drag & Resize by default) to choose how you view the dashboard:
- Drag & Resize – edit mode
- Presentation – locks tiles for viewing
- Print Preview – shows the print area more clearly
The zoom in, zoom out and full screen buttons next to it help you check the layout.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| I want to undo a change | Open the version history and restore an earlier version. |
| Tiles are crowding the dashboard | Resize the tiles to fit more in. |
| The export cuts off content | Check the dotted outline to see what will be included. |
