How to Add and Configure Schedule Metric Tiles

Display project schedule health and completion dates on your Mastt Dashboard

Schedule Metric tiles give you instant visibility into critical schedule information directly on your Dashboard. Use them to display your current project phase, planned completion date, baseline completion date, or how many days your project is delayed. These tiles complement your cost data by showing schedule health at a glance.

Before you start:

  • For completion date metrics, set up a completion milestone in the Schedule module with both baseline and planned dates

How to Add a Schedule Metric Tile

Step 1: Navigate to Your Dashboard

  • Click Dashboard in the left-hand navigation bar
  • Your Dashboard displays any existing tiles and widgets

Step 2: Open the Tile Library

  • Click the + Add Tiles button in the top right area of the Dashboard
  • The Tile Library panel opens, showing all available tile types

Step 3: Add a Schedule Metric Tile

  • Scroll through the Tile Library to locate the Schedule Metric tile
  • Click + Add Tile on the Schedule Metric tile card
  • The tile appears on your Dashboard
  • Click X to close the Tile Library

How to Configure a Schedule Metric Tile

Step 1: Open Tile Settings

  • Click the Action button in the top right corner of the tile
  • Select Settings from the dropdown menu
  • The tile settings panel opens

Step 2: Select Your Metric

For Baseline Completion Date, Planned Completion Date, and Delay from Baseline metrics to display data, you must first set up a completion milestone in the Schedule module. When creating or editing an activity, toggle Completion to ON to mark it as your project completion milestone. Ensure that activity has both a baseline completion date and planned completion date entered. See How to Create a Project Schedule for detailed instructions.

Choose one of four metric options:

Current Phase

Displays the current project phase (e.g., Design, Construction, Commissioning, Handover). Useful for stakeholders who want to see project phase at a glance.

Baseline Completion Date

Shows the original target completion date from when your project baseline was set. This date comes from the activity marked as your project's completion milestone in the Schedule module. The baseline represents your original commitment and should not change once set.

Planned Completion Date

Shows your current target completion date, reflecting any schedule changes, delays, or acceleration since the baseline. This also comes from your completion milestone activity in the Schedule module.

Delay from Baseline

Calculates the difference between Baseline and Planned Completion Dates, displayed in days:

  • Positive number (e.g., +45 days): Project is delayed
  • Zero (0 days): Project is on schedule
  • Negative number (e.g., -10 days): Project is ahead of schedule

This metric requires both Baseline and Planned Completion Dates to be configured.

Step 3: Customise the Title (Optional)

  • Toggle Custom title? to ON
  • Enter your preferred title in the text field (e.g., "Schedule Variance (Days Behind)")
  • Toggle OFF to return to the default title

Step 4: Select a Colour

Choose a background colour from the preset palette, or use the custom colour picker to select any colour using the gradient selector or RGB values. Consider using consistent colours across related tiles to create visual groupings on your Dashboard.

Step 5: Save Your Configuration

  • Click Save at the bottom of the settings panel
  • Your configured tile now displays live schedule data

Managing Schedule Metric Tiles

Access all management actions through the Action button on each tile:

Settings

Opens the tile configuration panel to change the metric, title, or colour.

Edit Data

Opens the Schedule module where you can update your schedule activities, completion milestone, and dates. Changes made in the Schedule module are reflected on your tile.

Duplicate a Tile

Click Duplicate Tile to create a copy with identical settings. Change the metric on the duplicate to quickly create a set of related schedule tiles (e.g., Current Phase, Planned Completion Date, and Delay from Baseline displayed together).

Download Tile

Click Download Tile to save the tile as an image file for reports, presentations, or status emails.

Delete a Tile

Click Delete Tile to delete the tile from your Dashboard. This only removes the visual element—your schedule data in the Schedule module remains intact.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why is my completion date tile showing no data?

Navigate to the Schedule module and ensure you've marked an activity as your completion milestone. That activity needs both a baseline date and a planned date configured.

Q: What's the difference between Baseline and Planned Completion Date?

Baseline is your original commitment set at project start—it shouldn't change. Planned is your current forecast that updates as the schedule evolves. The difference between them shows your schedule variance.

Q: How do I show multiple schedule metrics on one dashboard?

Add one Schedule Metric tile, configure it, then use the Duplicate action. Change the metric on each duplicate to display different schedule information with consistent styling.

Q: Why does Delay from Baseline show nothing?

This metric requires both a Baseline Completion Date and a Planned Completion Date. Check that your completion milestone in the Schedule module has both dates set.
