How to Archive and Enable Projects
Manage your project quota by archiving inactive construction projects
Archive projects you're no longer actively using to free up space in your project quota without losing historical data. Archived projects remain accessible but become read-only to preserve project information.
Before you start:
- You must be a Workspace Admin to archive or enable projects
- Archived projects don't count towards your project quota
- Archiving makes projects read-only
Steps
Archive a project
- Go to Admin from the main navigation
- Select Projects from the admin menu
- Find the project you want to archive
- Click the three dots menu next to the project name
- Select Archive from the dropdown
- Confirm the action in the dialogue box
Enable a project
- In the Admin > Projects view, find the archived project (marked with an "Archived" chip)
- Click the three dots menu next to the project name
- Select Enable from the dropdown
- Confirm the action in the dialogue box
Result: Archived projects display an "Archived" chip on both the projects page and users' home pages. Enabled projects return to normal functionality and count towards your project quota again.
Q&A
Q: What if I can't enable a project?
Check that your workspace hasn't reached its project quota limit. You'll need available quota space to enable projects.
Q: Can users still access archived projects?
Yes, but they can only view data. All other project data becomes read-only when archived.
Q: What happens to project data when I archive it?
All historical data remains intact and accessible. Once a project is archived, adding or editing project information, including dashboards, is restricted.
