How to Edit and Delete Budgets and Sub-Budgets

Prerequisites

  • Required access level: Any user that has access to the project.

  • Required system setup: An existing budget or sub-budget must be in place

Editing Budgets and Sub-Budgets

Editing a budget or sub-budget allows you to update financial details, adjust allocations, and ensure accuracy in project tracking.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Budget Section

    • On the Side Menu, click Cost. Go to Budgets Register and select Budgets.

  2. Edit the Budget Details

    • Click the Action button next to the budget. Select Edit This Budget and make changes.

  3. Save Changes

    • Click Save to apply updates in real-time.

Deleting Budgets and Sub-Budgets

Removing a budget or sub-budget should only be done when it is no longer needed, as this action may impact financial reports.

Steps

  1. Locate the Budget to Delete

    • On the Side Menu, click Cost. Go to Budgets Register and select Budgets.
  2. Initiate the Deletion

    • Click the Action button next to the budget. Select Delete Budget and click Delete to confirm.

Tip: You cannot delete a Budget that has Adjustments, Forecasts. Line Items, Allocations, Risks and Sub-Budgets against it. These must be moved or deleted to delete the budget.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Cannot edit a budget? → Ensure you have the correct permissions.

  • Deleted budget still appearing? → Refresh the page or check for system sync delays.
